The Watchmaker's Journey
The watchmaker's Journey is a fun filled, thrilling family ride through time with the watchmaker himself! The watchmaker is the one who makes all the watches and clocks for the land of time. And he's invited you into his shop! This ride features a trackless system, similar to others introduced into the Disney parks in recent years.
Facade:
The facade for the attraction is the watchmaker's shop. An elegant and detailed metallic, steampunk building covered in teals and gold. The whole building is covered In silver and gold gears and cogs.
Queue:
As you enter into the watchmakers shop you enter a dimly lit brick room with walls lined with hundreds of clocks and watches. No two ones the same. All chiming and clicking in different rhythms. And different clocks from different time periods. As you leave the shop front you go through the watchmaker's watch making room. You see his big wooden desk and bits of watch littered all over. As you pass through the cozy brick room you enter into a large open room.
Pre-show:
The lights are dim as you enter a large theater room. You can see watches and gears all around you as it looks like you are inside one giant machine. Then you see the watch maker himself. He's a rusty robot (AA) with moving gears and parts all over him. And glowing green eyes.

"Hello there friends! Welcome to my humble shop of time. Today Time herself has allowed me to give you wonderful people a tour of my shop, and more excitingly, a look at my most prized possession.
*he then pulls back a curtain to reveal an intricate golden watch.*
Ah there she is! Not only is she beautiful, but time herself has given this watch special abilities. You wanna know what it can do? It can traverse time! That's right! Any time any place, I can take you there! The only issue is time travel is extremely dangerous, and consequences of altering just be slightest of details could drastically effect and possibly ruin the future for all of mankind. So who wants to go? Oh it'll be fine! I made these special time vehicles that will (hopefully) keep us hidden and safe. Now, get ready to go back in time! *saftey speil* You then exit into an industrial machine shop, huge complicated metal machines chime away blowing steam around the room. You see your time vehicle approach. It is a trackless brass machine, covered in metal pipes and moving parts. https://1drv.ms/i/s!Aqs97iWPC_MegzA8JsucuumOUJKz As you enter your vehicle you enter a huge room with a wrap around screen (think pirates in Shanghai) and the watchmaker at the front in his own vehicle. "Hello again! Fasten your seat-belts and hold on tight folks because we're going back in time! *he Holds up the watch and it fills the room with magic and steams of light effects (via screen) the. The room fills with smoke and then the screen lifts to reveal a dense jungle. You follow the watchmaker into the forest. "Welcome to 65 million BC. Something is about to happen here that'll change the world forever." You hear rustling in trees and a huge T REX appears in a clearing. "Looks as though we have an unexpected guest!" The giant beast roars and then pauses. "I would run if I were you pal!" The Dino turns to see a huge meteorite falling towards earth. "Sorry but we better run! Sorry about the extinction." Your car then swiftly glides out of the forest and the watchmaker holds his watch up to the air and the room fills with smoke again. Then out of the smoke you enter into a renaissance workshop. You're hiding behind covered paintings and boxes. You can see Leonardo da Vinchi painting the Mona Lisa. And his half finished wooden contraptions lining the room. "Ah there's the great inventor himself, Leonardo da Vinchi! Looks like right now he's working on the Mona Lisa!" |
"Da Vinchi: come on Lisa, give me a smile..."
Lisa frowns, but then looks over to us and smiles.
"Lisa: why, are those pretty things yours?"
Leonardo turns and gasps, "oh my what are those wonderful machines?!"
"watchmaker: now would be a good time to leave, goodbye!"
*Your car quickly turns and you again travel in time. You then find yourself in a large open field, you see AA Knights fighting with swords.
"Woah! This is exciting. Long Arthur's 12 battle on Badon Hill." And you make your way across the field and into a castle. You see King Arthur fighting off enemies.
"Art thou with us? What sorcery is this?" He yells posting his sword towards you.
"Watchmaker: We're just passing though!" Your car then travels through the smoke and into a small room filled with men in wigs.
"The signing of the Declaration of Independence!" Watchmaker yells in excitement.
"Are you here to sign?" The men say confused.
"Uh nope. Just leaving, hey thanks guys!"
You exit the room and you travel once again, now you're at the 1893 world exhibition. You see the whole place light up with lights as Thomas Edison turns at you.
"What an amazing machine!" He says, "is it an automobile? A train?"
"It's both!" The watchmaker replied. "Nice seeing you Edison!
I've always liked the one in 1964 better anyways." The watchmaker says joking, as we go through time to the next scene. Now we find ourselves in a large dessert.
"Kitty hawk, 1903. We're about to see technology soar!"
Then you see the wright brothers plane soar right over your head and you see Wilbur follow behind it.
"Forgot our machine, do those things fly?" He asks amazed.
"Watchmaker: Why in fact they do!"
And with a burst of steam, and a gasp from Wilbur, Your car lifts up and flys into an omnimax screen. You fly through the clouds as the watchmaker sets your next destination.
"After then, it was just a matter of time! And now we're here!"
You exit the clouds and come upon New York City.
You fly between sky scrapers and Times Square, until panning up into the sky.
"Now, I wonder what the future has in store for us? Let's see!"
You fly into space and find yourself in a space station. You see oddly dressed people walking past and hovering cars zooming by.
"Woah! Look at this" Watchmaker gasps. Then finally you car enters a huge circular cone.
There's farms and cities wrapping all around you. "Now this is quite a future! Let's go make it happen!" With one last click of the watch, the watchmaker sends us back to his shop.
"Quite the journey wasn't it? I'm sure we didn't mess anything up... Too drastically. Anyways, thanks for traveling with me, have a great TIME here!" And with a robotic chuckle the watchmaker goes back to his work and you unload.
Lisa frowns, but then looks over to us and smiles.
